Summer Vibes IV

25 June - 29 August 2026

‘Summer Vibes IV’, presented by Opera Gallery Madrid, brings together a selection of artists whose practices span generations, geographies and visual languages. Conceived for the summer season, the exhibition explores themes of perception, memory, materiality and representation through a diverse range of artistic approaches.

The curation includes works by Fernando Botero and Manolo Valdés, whose practices engage with art historical references through distinctive formal languages. Botero’s Donna Sdraiata (2012) exemplifies his exploration of volume and form, while Valdés reinterprets classical motifs through a contemporary lens.

A focus on Spanish artistic production is reflected in works by Rafael Canogar and Juan Genovés. Canogar’s Teclado (2012) highlights his continued investigation of gesture and materiality, while Genovés’s Reestructura (2015) engages with themes of collectivity and movement. The collaborative work Ramo Salvaje - 2 (2019) by Jorge Galindo and Pedro Almodóvar introduces a dialogue between photography and painting. This selection is complemented by Xevi Solà’s Blue Melancholy (2026), which reflects a contemporary perspective on leisure and environment.

Further contemporary positions are represented by Andy Denzler, whose work examines the fragmentation of the image, and Gustavo Nazareno, whose otherworldly landscape introduces a moment of stillness and contemplation.

The exhibition also includes works by internationally recognised artists such as Keith Haring, Alex Katz, Kenny Scharf, KAWS, Jeff Koons and Julian Opie, presented alongside artists including Anselm Reyle, Luis Gordillo, Cristóbal Hara, Maurice Mboa, Kimathi Mafafo, Pieter Obels, Niovi Kafantari and Miguel Sainz Ojeda.

Through this range of works, ‘Summer Vibes IV’ brings together works that move between energy, irony, nostalgia and quiet reflection, capturing the breadth of contemporary artistic expression.
